Purpose

The purpose of the Metropolitan Library System awards is to recognize MLS member libraries, trustees, MLS staff, and government officials for their contribution to libraries and/or the field of librarianship.

Selection process

The MLS Awards Committee will select award recipients based on nominations submitted before the MLS Annual Meeting. The MLS Awards Committee is responsible for determining whether or not the nominee meets the award criteria. Awards are announced at the MLS Annual Meeting in November.

Eligibility

Specific eligibility requirements are listed for each award. Nominations must come from an employee or trustee of an MLS member library or MLS staff. The nominee must meet the listed award criteria to be eligible to receive the award.
