NEA Foundation announces “Books Across America” grants of $1,000 to public schools serving economically disadvantaged students to purchase books for school libraries. Deadline for applications is November 12, 2007. http://www.neafoundation.org/programs/BAA_2007.htm
The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and ALA invite public and school (K-12) libraries to apply for a We the People Bookshelf, a collection of classic books for young readers. Library Law: Changes in the Law of Interest to Libraries
Two new Illinois laws will affect both local libraries and library districts. The first new law changes the date of the general primary election; and the second is a law changing the provisions of the Library Records Confidentiality Act. [Permalink]
